2025 Spring Workshop

Here are some text pieces I made in response to a call for my dreams of the future for the city and I want a porous city able to absorb flash flooding and not create huge storm run-off. 
All the locations where on a small scale I have taken measures to decrease this I took photographs with text. 
I took one photograph by the edge of the canal to highlight the problem as well -in storms the rainwater causes the sewers to overflow and pour effluent into the canals.

This was formerly a wasteland and now around the trees I have grown plants-mostly native ones that are tolerant of difficult conditions. This action has been copied by the neighbours and there are now numerous tree gardens.

We need more grass and plants, in the Netherlands there is a campaign to remove garden tiling because it create storm overflow.

This is nodding avens a plant that is on the “red list” of endangered plants in the Netherlands. I am working with a native plant nursery to help propagate this plant.
